| Our Story: | The Ability Tour is a ride dedicated to raising awareness
for people of all abilities. My buddy and I work for a nonprofit
vocational rehabilitation company here in Lansing and
were wondering what we could do to help our community
understand and become more aware of the population we serve
and erase any stigma surrounding people with disabilities. We
are avid cyclists and have always thought the cycling industry
provides a great example of how to empower people of all
abilities with its attention to assistive technology.
The Ability Tour is what we came up with.
The tour offers an 8, 30 or 50 mile loop that begins at the new
Peckham headquarters here in Lansing and quickly gets you
into some scenic, residential riding. The roads are good with
some rolling hills and a little incline on the return.
SAG services and aid stations will be available along with
educational materials and programs to help communicate our
message that people with disabilities are just as ABLE as
anyone else.
